In Matungulu sub-county, A middle-aged woman from KwaNgii sub-location has been arraigned in Kangundo law courts after she was accused of burning the private parts of her 9-year-old stepdaughter.
Mary Neema Kalokiis is alleged to have beaten the 9-year old girl before putting a knife on a stove and burning her private parts and her back.
The child was locked for two days without food and her health had started to deteriorate., according to Ngai sub-location assistant Ruth Mwende

She was notified about the incident by a neighbor. When she went to investigate she found the child hungry, injured, and with a lot of fever.
The girl was taken to Nguluni dispensary but was referred her to Kangundo since her condition was serious.
Neighbors said the woman had been molesting the kid and the matter had been reported to the. Landlord but no action had been taken.
The woman pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before senior principal magistrate Desderious Orimba.
She was put in remand for 14 days and the kid will be kept in hospital until she recovers.
Meanwhile Police in Machakos have commenced investigations into the gruesome and bizarre murder of a 37-year-old woman in Kithiini, Kalama sub-county of Machakos County. Esther Wavinya Mwanthi who was physically challenged was found dead at her home by her relatives who live in the same compound early morning.
