Ousted Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was today given a heroic reception during the burial service of late politician and Machakos senator Boniface Kabaka in Masinga. Sonko who was given a chance to address the mourners before other gubernatorial representatives, praised the late Senator as a diligent leader who closely worked with him.
“We have worked alot and the late Kabaka in his capacity as a lawyer as well as a senator. I will be offering my support to his family during this time of need,” he said. While steering away from politics, Sonko recognized the presence of other Senators including Speaker Ken Lusaka and hinted that he would be persuing his impeachment in court.
“If my impeachment was irregular and politically inclined, I’ll leave it to God.” Amidst cheers from the mourners, the ousted Governor revealed that the late Kabaka was a bold fighter of the deep state cartels.
“I know most politicians are corwardly and may be compromised to speak the truth but the late Senator will be remembered for fighting for land in Ukambani that was under the hands of grabbers.”
A seemingly agitated Sonko alleged that the passing on of the late Kabaka had sketchy details saying he was ready to finance for proper investigation. “We have lost three senators previously (Mutula Kilonzo Snr, Otieno Kajwang and now Boniface Kabaka but everytime they claim it’s because of sex enhancing drugs.
The late Senator had fallen out with the deep state and people close to the President.” In what seemed to cause fireworks, Sonko alleged to have been in a meeting with Jubilee’s vice chair David Murathe and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. “I have a dossier in which they discussed on how to use and dump you,” Sonko said.
The Governor dismissed the BBI driven political narrative as baseless with selfish interests whose aim was to divide small communities. Sonko was seen to have close ties with the deputy president as they sat next to each other and occasionally sharing pleasantries.
