Kenya rugby league federation has welcomed five new board members to complete the list of its board of directors. This now brings the total number of the Pioneer Board members to Nine, as per the requirements of the sports activity.
The new board members who will help the federation chairman steer the rugby league by providing strategic and operational direction are Sammy Githinji, Kevin Adhere, Amer Mwatsahu, Joel Nganga, and Eric Murungi all with strong rugby backgrounds.
Sammy Githinji is the secretary, Eric Murungi Treasurer, Amer Mwatsahu is the director operations, Kevin Adhere will be in charge of competitions and tournaments and Ex –Kenya international Joel Nganga is the National squad’s management and player’s welfare.
“From my professional angle, I bring in knowledge of design and constructing sports facilities that will be required as we grow the game. I hope to meet and engage in this exciting journey to grow the rugby league in Kenya”. Said Nganga.

These comes on the backdrop of earlier appointments of Edward Rombo as the Head Coach, Benjamin Ayimba Technical Director, Charles Cardovillis Director Commercial and special projects, and John Mbai Director Growth and development.
According to the KRL Chairman Quicks Nyakwaka, “it was imperative to put in place a proper and solid structure in terms of expertise that will oversee, run, and manage the league. The board constitutes great rugby souls with the character that KRL needs to produce a world-class outfit”.

Kenya Rugby league federation is in the process of strengthening its coaching and technical units, in readiness for its league kick-off and maiden international test match against South Africa later in the year.
